Q?

what travel documents do i need to visit brazil

A.

All US citizens need a valid passport and a Brazil tourist visa to visit Brazil. You must acquire a 10-year Brazil tourist visa before your journey begins: tap here to start the process to get your Brazil tourist visa. (allow 8 weeks or more to obtain your visa) FYI, if you want to exchange your money for Brazilian (BRL-Reias) currency we recommend that you do so at international airports in Brazil. Exchanging your foreign currency at U.S. airports equals much higher fees. Banks in Brazil do NOT exchange international currency.

Besides clothing and personal effects, tourists entering Brazil may bring in one of each of the following items: iPhones, iPads, iPods, CD players, laptop computers, movie and still cameras. Brazil employs strict import duties on foreign products, i.e, computers, electronics, and designer clothing and cologne. In most cases, if you are caught with more than the allotted number of these products you’ll be charged the applicable tariff/duty tax. The Brazilian government has a very strict non-compliance policy related to illegal drugs entering the country. It should be noted that Marijuana is NOT legal in Brazil. Q?

when is brazil carnival in 2018

A.

Next year the official Carnival dates in Brazil run from (Friday, Feb 09 thru Wed, Feb 14-2018). These dates are predetermined by the Catholic church calendar, however, pre-Carnival parties routinely erupt spontaneously throughout Salvador during the days leading up to the official start of Carnival. We offer extended private excursions beyond our scheduled Carnival touring dates; featuring many fabulous pre-carnival ceremonies and musical performances by popular, local, Brazilian bands.

Next year we're offering our Carnival guest an exclusive after-carnival retreat to Dreamland Bungalows (Feb 14-18-2018) on the Maraú Peninsula on the southern coast of Bahia state. Maraú is home to some of the world’s greatest natural beauty, Bahia’s Southern ‘Dendê Coast’ will enchant you with its lush vegetation, miles of virgin beaches, flavorful Afro-Bahian gastronomy and other tasty traditional dishes born in this region.
